A system that crawls, crashes or won't boot, malware, broken drivers or updates: repair in place, or a clean reinstall of Windows or your Linux distribution.
Moving to an SSD, adding memory, replacing a battery, a keyboard or a fan. You get several more years of use for the price of one part.
Failed drive, a machine that won't boot again, accidental deletion: I extract and hand back your files whenever it is technically possible.

I work on the basis that the equipment you hand me belongs to you. If it does not, and its owner was not informed, I cannot be held responsible for the changes made to it.
If a device stays with me uncollected, I try to reach you for 30 days. After that I stop chasing and the device is given away, sold or stripped for parts: it can no longer be recovered. My storage space is limited.
When a drive is replaced or data recovered, I keep your old data for 30 days. If something goes wrong with the new drive within that window, I can hand it back. After that it is deleted and destroyed for good, to protect your privacy.
